Unlock Your Potency
9 Days of Durga Energy to Invoke Your Power and Voice
With KAVITA RANI ARORA

Day 1
Today, we are tuning into the energy of ShailPutri, also know as Parvati, an aspect of Durga and also a key figure in Tantric lineage. After engaging the practice for today, let me know what unfolds for you!
Focus today is on:
– The potency you can have as a woman being her true self and leading from heart and love.

Day 2
Today, the focus is on BRAHMACHARINI. She’s an aspect of Sati and Shailputri as well. We talked about them on Day 1.
She’s the aspect of Sati/Parvati/Shailputri when they are in complete meditation and connection. She’s willing to devote herself in the pursuit of her desires, in this case, the desire to marry Lord Shiva. She wears all white as a symbol of her purity and devotion.
She embodies the essence of “Bhakti” towards Lord Shivaas she shows her desire for this union through her devotion.
The story goes that she goes off to the mountains to live like Shiva. She gives herself in complete devotion to the Yogini Path. Shiva is so moved by who she becomes on this path that she received the object of her desire, and he marries her.
Brahmacharini is about devotion, meditation and reverence for your heart and soul’s desires.
Today, take some time to tune into your heart and soul’s desires. Surrender yourself and making yourself the offering to the desire. Give all of you in reverence and respect to your heart’s desire. View yourself as an offering to the divine feminine and allow yourself to be in union with the Goddess.
You may even want to dance your desire into being, or journal it, or sing it, or … whatever you feel to do that will get you more deeply in touch with feeling and embodying your devotion to your desire.
Speaking the voice of your true self starts first with devotion that connects you to your soul and then speaking and sharing from there. This is what it means to claim your true voice.
Now speak or write something from your true self and share it with us in the comments below, or share it with yourself in your journal.

Day 3
Today, the focus is on CHANDRAGHANTA.
She’s a fierce form of Goddess Durga and has 10 hands. She’s the protector and destroyer of evil.
On her forehead, at her third eye, she wears a crescent moon in the shape of a temple bell, and her power stems from sound.
In the battle of gods and demons, she sounded her beautiful bell and many demons died.
In the story of Shiva and Parvati, it is said that Shiva showed up in a terrorizing form when he came to get his bride, Parvati. He terrified her family. Parvati transformed herself into Changraghanta to convince Shiva to show up in a more charming form. Shiva agreed and all was well again.
Changraghanta connects with energy of spirit through sound and vibration, voice, mantra and speaking. She supports you in releasing, surrendering or destroying all that no longer supports you.
Inquire today within yourself- How can I use my voice and sound as a way to clear my path of all that doesn’t support me on my path?
Invoking her energy also awakens the ability to destroy any old programming or belief systems that pull you down and make you feel lost or worthless. Her bell destroys anything that is based on fear and doubt.
Perhaps find a bell, or buy a bell that you can use for this purpose when fear and doubt comes up.
Voice isn’t just about your what you speak. Use your voice, whether it’s voice expressed as movement, singing, speaking or art.
Your voice is very powerful and important. It carries your primal roar and energy. Be aware of power of the sound your voice, however it is expressed. .
Be ferocious today in standing up in your strength.
Imagine yourself as a 10 armed goddess, roaring and fierce. Feel the vibration of that!
Then ask, where’s the place I’m speaking from? Clear what doesn’t serve. And, speak from that clear space, allowing the voice of your True Self to emerge.
Comment below and let us know what you created today with your gorgeous, amazing voice! Your voice is needed more than ever right now.

Day 4
On the fourth day of Navratri, we are focused on a Goddess called KUSHMANDA. Followers of the Kalikula tradition believe her to be the fourth form of the Hindu goddess Durga. She’s also known as the smiling goddess.
Some also say that during the next 3 days of Navratri there’s a shift in focus to aspects of Goddess Lakshmi, who, in some traditions, is also seen as an aspect of Durga.
Kushmanda’s name tells us what her role is: Ku means “a little”, Ushma means “warmth” or “energy” and Anda means “cosmic egg”.
Before the universe existed and there was darkness everywhere, Maa Kushmanda bore the cosmic egg with the power of her smile, cosmic energy and warmth. and brought light to the universe.
She has the power and strength to live in the core of the sun, and it is said that she guides and directs the Sun God, Surya. Some even believe that she is the source of all energy in the Universe. She’s an orb of divine and infinite energy.
Kushmanda is the embodiment of inner light, strength and power. Invoke her today and get in touch with core of how powerful you truly are.
Inspiration, warmth, beautiful energy is at the core of who you are. Inside you resides the center of creation, birth and growth which leads to the expansion of divine feminine within us and outside of us.
Wow, just writing that gives me chills.
Contemplate and feel the level of power that resides within you and open to it.
Notice if resistance comes up and disbelief that little you could be that powerful.
The truth is that you are that powerful and you have just forgotten. Like Kushmanda, you are also an orb of divine and infinite energy.
Today is a day to remember! Share in the comments below about what remembrances come through … and, also if any doubts, questions or blocks arise as you try to open to and embrace the immense power within you.
Journal, dance, paint, communicate or do something else to more fully embody your power today.
Goddess Kushmanda’s Matra: Om Devi Kushmandayai Namah

Day 5
On the fifth day of Navratri, we are focused on a Goddess called SKANDMATA. She’s an aspect of Goddess Parvati. I told the story of Parvati in the Facebook live on Day 1.
Skanda was her first son with Shiva. And, Mata means mother. Skandamata is the aspect of Parvati’s live that is about nurturing the child. She is known as the nurturer, provider, and life giver. She is warm, gentle, kind, and embodies all qualities we associate with a great mother.
Today, I’d love for you activate Skandmata internally. She invokes a sense of connection within ourselves to ourselves. Invoke her to support you as you nurture your connection to yourself and as you birth babies, projects and ideas.
As you are birthing your baby, book, project or idea, connect your divinity to the divine feminine. Cultivate this relationship within you.
When this relationship within you is strong, you feel powerful and connected to yourself making it easy and seamless to express the voice of your true self in the world.
What kind of relationship do you have to your inner mother and your inner child? What can you do today to uplevel that. As your soul this question, and do what your soul guides you to do.
Goddess Skandmata’s Mantra: Om Devi Skandamatayai Namah

Day 6
On the sixth day of Navratri, we are focused on a Goddess called KATYAYANI. This is the last day of the the focus on Lakshmi. This aspect of the Goddess is a fierce force.
She’s a Warrior Goddess and daughter of Sage Katyayan. She emerged from Parvati for the purpose of slaying a demon.
She was born to bring balance to good and evil in the world by destroying one of biggest demons in Hindu mythology whose name was Mahishasura. After the she killed him, they gave her a second name, Mahishasuramardini (Destroyer of Mahishasura). She is honored for her innate strength, immense power, and fierceness.
With her fierce power, she brings in positive energy because the truth she stands for opens the journey for your own personal balance between ego and divinity.
When we connect to our truth and our fierce power and embody it, it brings personal balance to live an empowered life.
Find the truth of who you are, ride that wave and emerge in your light and ferocity. Spend a few moments with your eyes closed and looking up towards your third eye which is in the center of your forehead.
After you do this, what truths emerge for you? Please share in the comments below.
Goddess Katyayani’s Mantra: Om Devi Katyayanyai Namah

Day 7
In some traditions, the last 3 days of Navratri are focused on Saraswati. She connects us with wisdom, knowledge and understanding, to our divinity and our wholeness completion and beauty within and brilliance connected to that divine essence, the seed of Shakti and embodying it in human form. Spirit is so much beyond the physical and material works.
On the seventh day of Navratri, we are focused on a Goddess called KALARATRI. Some use Kali and Kalaratri interchangeably. She’s worshipped as the ruler of of time and slayer of darkness.
She’s the fiercest form of the Mother Goddess, and even her appearance invokes fear. She’s the destroyer of all demon entities, ghosts, spirits and negative energies, who flee upon knowing of her arrival. She’s also associated with the crown chakra which gives the invoker of Kalaratri knowledge, power and wealth.
Kalaratri supports you in freeing yourself from the limitations of time and the prison of your worry, fear, and sorrow so you can illuminate your consciousness.
It is said that Kalaratri contains the entire universe in her 3 eyes, her two physical eyes and her third eye. She has a lot of ferocity and power. She also slays demons to restore the balance between good and evil, light and dark, fear and love.
She gives us access to the idea that the entire universe, the seed of creation is present within and it is accessible to us within
Kal – means time, and it represents moving beyond linear time and into the ever present now. This fierce form of the divine feminine can give you access to the entire universe that is present within you.
Many of us believe that we have lost divinity because we took human form, and that while we are on earth, we are away from that divinity and that connection. The idea of separation begins as a thought and then we find evidence from that.
Kalaratri moves us beyond linear time and into non-separation so we can shift out of our dualistic reality into connection and communion with everything and everyone. As you bring this understanding to yourself, it will help to heal you from seeing yourself as separate from divine and give you immense power.
Today, spend some time in meditation or in meditative movement. Imagine yourself as your own slayer of darkness. Bring the thought of connection into your awareness and your body. Feel your connection to the seed of universe within your being.
Imagine the entire universe being inside of you, accessible to you. Bring your attention and movement into this space to experience the connection more and more.
Share in the comments about what you experienced.
Goddess Kalaratri’s Mantra: Om Devi Kalaratryai Namah

Day 8
On the eighth day of Navratri, we get to engage the beautiful energy of the Goddess MAHAGAURI.
She is the aspect of Parvati in devotion focused on inner meditation, renouncing all material possessions. She surrendered herself for the union with Shiva.
She forewent all comforts, even food, and braves heat, cold, rain, and storm for many years. Her body was covered with soil, dirt, insects, and dry leaves. Her extreme penance and devotion inspired Lord Shiva to pursue their union.
When Shiva said yes to the marriage, the goddess was covered with dirt. When Shiva poured water on her, she shined and emerged as Mahagauri, as white as a jasmine flower and dressed in white. She is honored as the shining, radiant, and beautiful aspect of the divine feminine. She embodied her true essence: purity and divinity in surrendering everything for her greater path and true desire.
What this means for you is that when you connect from a place of truth, when you offer yourself up to universe for your truest desires, what really matters is heart, truth and devotion, the innocence and purity and the depth of the love you feel within your being.
When you delve into that space, it’s not about what it looks like on the outside, just like Mahagauri being dirty didn’t cover up her radiance. An inner alchemy. Then, you truly shine because spirit shines through. It cuts through everything that is imposed by conditioning about what needs to be figured out.
What truly matters is that you shine in your own way; it’s a different kind of shining.
Mahagauri felt that ache of needing Shiva. Her meditation and her other spiritual practice removed that ache for external fulfillment from Shiva so that when she did receive what she wished for, it wasn’t from a need.
This also holds true for you. As you deepen your spiritual practice and release attachment to the fulfillment of your desires while simultaneously being able to hold an intense desire, the things you are wishing for begin to show up, as if by magic.
When you place yourself on the altar and give yourself in that level of surrender, when you renounce the “I” and surrender into the wholeness of divine feminine, that dissolves the ache and brings you your desire.
Goddess Mahagauri’s Mantra: Om Devi Mahagauryai Namah

Day 9
On the ninth and last day of Navratri, we are exploring the energy of the Goddess SIDDHIDATRI.
She connects us to the essence and truth, knowledge and wisdom liberates us. The truth of our being liberates us.
Siddhi means accomplishment and blessings. The Goddess gives her love and her blessings to you.
Connect with this purity of your heart as you offer yourself to the understanding of the universe, Dedicate your life to the greater truth, blessed with knowledge and information that allows us to feel liberation in our beings.
With all this comes a beautiful promise: when you connect, serve, and devote yourself to truth and the practice of truth is your life, then you are blessed by the goddess with fulfillment of your deepest desires. You are given greater strength and love so you can move forward on your path with love and conviction.
How do you know? The evidence is in what you feel.
Check in with your heart today and feel the blessings. If you are not paying attention to blessings, you may miss them. If you check in, you will find a blessing
Courageously walk the path of truth and the blessings will come quietly. When you commit, the goddess herself appears.
It could be in the form of a tax refund, or catch up with a friend, or read a blog or a quote – that’s your blessing.
MahaGauri never lets you feel deserted. She blesses you with a prosperous and happy life always. In this form the Goddess promises all her followers the gift of her continued presence and blessings on their path. When you start living for the greater truth and the path of divine purpose, the Goddess comes forth to pour blessings that help you achieve greater things in life.
